01 Welcome to Rare Apartments!

We hope you enjoy our self check-in microapartment(s) and have a wonderful stay in Tartu!

Check In / Check Out

Your personal code is activated from 3 PM on arrival day and is valid until 11 AM check-out day (also works at night time!).

There are 3 entrances to use – the main entrance in front of the building and 2 back door entrances behind the building.

For late check-out, please send us a message to check availability. After 11 AM, each hour costs 8€.

Although there is no reception on-site, we kindly ask you to reach out (message us at +372 5450 0800) if you have any special requests or concerns during your stay. We will do our best to find a solution ASAP.

Parking

Parking is possible for an extra charge of 6€ per night/per car, and parking is organized by SNABB OÜ. All parking spaces are located behind the building, in a parking area with a gate barrier. There is no indoor parking available.

PS! We have an electric charging point available.

 

02 Amenities

Housekeeping

There is no everyday housekeeping. Instead, we change towels after 3 nights and bed linen once a week. Still, if you have any concerns regarding the amenities in your room, do not hesitate to contact us by message.

We have central ventilation that cools the rooms, taking into account the outside temperature. The heating can be adjusted using the thermostats located on the walls.

Coffee and Seasonings

If you need some seasonings for cooking (oil, salt, pepper, etc.), we have a small seasonings station on the 0-floor, next to the elevator. These items are free to use while you are staying at Rare Apartments.

There is also a vending machine for hot drinks like tea, coffee, and more (payment in cash/card).

Pets

We accommodate pets only on the 1st floor apartments upon special request for an extra fee.

 

03 Amenities

Luggage and Bicycle Room

For all guests, we have a luggage room on the 0-floor, which is free to use. The room is located next to the garage door and near the storage units area. Please reach out to us if you would like access to the luggage room. There is no surveillance in the luggage room, and it is accessible for all the guests.

Storage Units

The Rare Apartments building has over 70 self-storage units, and it is possible to rent one for an extra charge. The minimum renting period is 1 month. For more information, please write to info@rareminilaod.ee.

Laundry Room

There is a laundry room on the 0-floor where you can do your washing if necessary. It is also possible to use or borrow an iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaners, etc.

Sauna and Seminar Room

A new and modern seminar room is located on the 0-floor of the Rare Apartments building, which is an ideal place for productive meetings and training sessions!

The room has a meeting table that can accommodate up to 12 participants at the same time and a large lounge area with a sofa, where it is comfortable to relax a little during a break. We also offer catering upon pre-order.

Our sauna accommodates up to 15 people and can be rented for private gatherings. The minimum usage is 3 hours, and pre-booking is necessary!

 

04 Emergencies

Fire Emergency

In case of a fire alarm, the rescue center will receive information about the alarm, and the Fire Department together with the Security company will come on-site.

After arrival, they will silence the alarm and determine the source of the alarm. There is no need to leave your apartment in case of the first alarm, but you may.

If there should be a real emergency and a need for evacuating, the alarm will start again and remain active. The assembly point is marked on the evacuation plan, which you will find near the apartment door (exit). You should leave your things behind and exit the building as quickly as possible.

Please note, that it is forbidden to smoke (including e-cigarettes, vapes) or use any open fire like candles in the apartment.

Night’s Peace

We really hope that your night’s sleep will be enjoyable!

In case there are other guests who disturb the quiet time, which is from 23:00 (11 PM) to 8:00 (AM), we kindly ask you to call the security at 1911.

All you need to do is mention that you are a guest at Rare Apartments (Pikk 40) and describe the situation. They will come on-site to solve the issue.

NB! The call must be made between quiet hours!

 

05 Stove

Pots and pans to use have to be suitable for an induction stove (marked with 🔘).

  1. For switching the stove ON/OFF, press the power button for 1 second.
  2. Locate the desired cooking zone by referring to the position symbols. Do not cover the control panel symbols with the cooking pot.
  3. Each cooking zone has different power levels that can be adjusted using the “+” and “−” buttons, from a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 9.
  4. For deactivating a cooking zone, press the “−” to set the level to “0” or press and hold the zone selection button for 5 seconds. The cooking zone is deactivated, and the residual heat indicator “H” appears on the display.
  5. To activate the timer, select the cooking zone for which you wish to set the timer. Press the button with the clock icon and set the desired time, using the “+” and “−” buttons.

06 Oven

Control Panel

Please note: the knobs are retractable. Press the knobs in the middle and they pop up.

  1. Selection Knob: For switching the oven on by selecting a function. Turn to the position 0 to switch the oven off.
  2. + / – Buttons: To increase or decrease the value shown on the display.
  3. Time Button: For selecting the various settings: duration, cooking end time, timer.
  4. Display: Displays settings and information.
  5. Thermostat Knob: Turn to select a desired temperature, activating the selected function.
  6. LED Thermostat / Preheating: Switches on during the heating process and switches off once the desired temperature is reached.

Cooking Functions

  • Conventional: For cooking any kind of dish on one shelf only.
  • Convection Bake: For cooking meat or baking cakes with liquid center on a single shelf. This function delivers an even, golden, crisp top and base.
  • Grill: For grilling steaks, kebabs, and sausages, cooking vegetables au gratin, or toasting bread. When grilling meat, we recommend using a drip tray to collect the cooking juices: position the tray on any of the levels below the wire shelf and add 500 ml of drinking water.
  • Turbo Grill: For roasting large joints of meat (legs, roast beef, chicken). We recommend using a drip tray to collect the cooking juices: position the pan on any of the levels below the wire shelf and add 500 ml of drinking water.
  • Defrost: For defrosting food more quickly. Place food on the middle shelf. Leave food in its packaging to prevent it from drying out on the outside.
  • Bottom Heating: Use this function after cooking to brown the bottom of the dish. The function can also be used for slow cooking, such as vegetables and meat stews.

 

07 Dishwasher

Daily Use

  1. Load the racks.
  2. Fill the detergent dispenser.
  3. Choose the program and customize the cycle.
  4. Start the wash cycle by pressing the START/PAUSE button (LED is lit) and closing the door within 4 seconds. When the program starts, you hear a single beep. If the door was not closed within 4 seconds, the alarm sound will be played. In this case, open the door, press the START/PAUSE button, and close the door again within 4 seconds.
  5. The end of the wash cycle is indicated by beeps and by the flashing of the wash cycle number on the display. Open the door and switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF button. Wait for a few minutes before removing the crockery to avoid burns. Unload the racks, beginning with the lower one.

Filling the Detergent Dispenser

  • To open the detergent dispenser, use the opening device C.
  • Introduce the detergent into the dry dispenser D only.
  • Place the amount of detergent for pre-washing directly inside the tub.
  • When measuring out the detergent, refer to the mentioned earlier information to add the proper quantity.
    Inside the dispenser D, there are indications to help with detergent dosing.
  • Remove detergent residues from the edges of the dispenser and close the cover until it clicks.
  • Close the lid of the detergent dispenser by pulling it up until the closing device is secured in place.
  • The detergent dispenser automatically opens up at the right time according to the program.
  • If all-in-one detergents are used, we recommend using the TABLET button, because it adjusts the program
    so that the best washing and drying results are always achieved.
  • Note: Usage of detergent not designed for dishwashers may cause malfunction or damage to the appliance.

 

09 Thermostats

Black

Thermostats are for adjusting the floor heating (bathroom and living area).

  1. Press any key to awake the thermostat.

White

  1. Turn the thermostat ON or OFF by pressing the power button.
  2. Press < or > at any time to change the desired temperature value.
    SET is shown in the display. When releasing < or >,
    the display returns to showing the actual temperature. The adjustment step is 0.5°C.
    Reaching the new SET value may take up to 12 hours.

 

10 Extractor Hood

The hood is fitted with a control panel with aspiration speed selection control
and a light switch to control cooling area lights.

It is mandatory to use the extractor during cooking.

 

11 TV

For opening the menu, press the Home button: 🏠.

To watch TV channels, find the Go3 Estonia app and select
Live TV from the left menu bar.

If the TV is logged out for any reason, please contact our customer service.
